What is Corporate Housing?
As a Corporate Housing Provider, we are often asked, "What is Corporate Housing?"
CHPA DefinitionCorporate Housing is defined as a furnished apartment, condominium or house made available for rent or let on a temporary basis, primarily for 30 days or more.
Here, we briefly discuss common definitions of Corporate Housing. We found Wikipedia's definition of Corporate Housing lacking in that they refer to it as a "term in the travel industry meaning renting out a furnished apartment or house on a temporary basis to individuals."
While Corporate Housing Inc has certainly worked with and welcomes the travel industry, we've provided temporary housing solutions for nearly 2 decades to a wide variety of clientele. The scope of our clientele is described in "who needs corporate housing".
There are other definitions to be found on line, but we think the best comes from our trade organization, Corporate Housing Provider's Association, generally known as "CHPA": "Corporate Housing is defined as a furnished apartment, condominium or house made available for rent or let on a temporary basis, primarily for 30 days or more." Note that the CHPA definition does not limit these services to any one sector. The CHPA version further explains Corporate Housing by describing what is typically included: Here, on CorporateHousingInc.com, we provide a complete list of what is included in our corporate apartments. CHPA also points out that Corporate Housing is "more cost-effective for companies for long-term housing needs." We agree, but we also provide short term housing. We define short-term as a minimum of 30 days. So, "what's a Corporate Housing provider?" That would be us! Again, refering to CHPA, "A corporate housing provider is a business that receives direct compensation for providing corporate housing, as defined." Learn more about the benefits of corporate housing on "Why Corporate Housing." Pricing is discussed on a page here dedicated to "What does Corporate Housing cost?" The process steps for arranging your own corporate apartment are listed on "How we work with you to find a temporary apartment." The question, "Where can we help you with your temporary housing needs?" is answered on a page describing our speciality areas as well as our ability to help you find a temporary apartment nationwide.
Neither do we.
